The café is open seven days a week throughout the year serving food all day [8am - 6pm]. During the summer months (April-September) the evening bistro is open Tuesday - Sunday evening until 10pm - Mondays 8am until 6pm.
The Waterfront Café is situated in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, perched on the banks of the River Thames at Benson. The idyllic setting makes it a perfect place to watch the stunning sunsets over the river with a glass of wine.
Our veranda now has glass walls, so you can enjoy the view of the Thames without having to brave the elements. Try it out next time you pop in. Dogs welcome.
Just off the A4074 half way between Oxford and Reading, north of the small town of Wallingford. The café is situated on the banks of the Thames in the village of Benson. The café is just half a mile north of Benson lock. Mooring is available on the riverbank outside.

Benson Waterfront provides the perfect haven for relaxing. Situated on the banks of the beautiful River Thames in open countryside at Benson there are full touring and camping facilities, including en-suite showers and laundry as well as an on-site restaurant and bar. Also available are boat moorings, storage, slipway, boat repairs, Calor gas and diesel.
Campsite: The touring site is situated on a picturesque stretch of the river Thames and is a perfect base for anything from walking the Thames path or visiting the sights of the beautiful historic university town of Oxford
Riverside Lodges for Hire: New in 2014. Modern and contemporary luxury holiday lodges boasting a magnificent location on the banks of the River Thames just 10 miles from historic Oxford. The luxury one and two bedroom lodges have a master double bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with doors leading to verandah with an outdoor hot tub.
Boat Hire: Situated on the upper Thames Benson Waterfront offers a fleet of well maintained and fitted cruisers operated by experienced staff. This picturesque site is set right by the Thames Path in open countryside offering a choice of cruising directions, either east towards Henley and Windsor, or west towards Oxford.
Riverside Lodges for Sale: Set in a beautiful tranquil Thames-side setting on a privately owned Oxfordshire leisure park. Lodge accommodation includes fully fitted kitchen, bathroom, master bedroom with en-suite shower room, lounge, diner with patio doors to decking. The park is open for occupancy March to January, 11 months per year. Boat Moorings, Services and Facilities (SLIPWAY £15) : Our seasonal riverside moorings are very popular and much in demand but overnight moorings are usually available, please ring ahead to confirm availability and book. We offer a fully serviced pump outs, Elsan disposal, fresh water and Calor gas. Over winter, hard standing storage is available for owners who wish to store their boat out of the water.
Benson Angling and Canoe Hire Centre: The shop caters to anglers with its’ tackle and bait shop. Day licenses are available for those visiting the area. Outdoor Life also offers Canadian canoes for hire for anyone wishing to explore the countryside from the river.
AV Boats: AV Boats has a range of boats, kayaks, canoes and accessories for sale from its showroom at Benson Waterfront. AV Boats also offers self drive day boat hire either by the hour, ½ day or day.
